How to price your laundry services

Start from your costs

List what one item costs you: water, detergent, power or diesel, and the minutes of work. A duvet costs more than a shirt because it takes more of all four.

Add your fixed costs, such as rent and salaries, spread across a normal month of orders.

Add a margin, then compare

Add the margin your business needs to grow, then look at what shops near you charge.

If you are much higher, show why: faster turnaround, pickup and delivery, or special care for delicate fabrics.

Price by item, not by bag

Per-item prices feel fairer to customers and protect you from a bag full of heavy items.

Keep a short list of common items with clear prices, and a way to price anything unusual.

Charge for speed and distance

Express service puts other orders back, so charge for it. Delivery costs a rider's time and fuel, so it should have its own charge, which can differ by area.

How Presso helps

In Presso you set your price list once. Each branch can have its own prices, and customers see them before they book.

Should I offer a discount for paying in full?

Many shops do. A small discount for paying everything up front gets money in sooner and cuts the time spent chasing balances.

How often should I change my prices?

Review them when your costs change, such as when fuel or detergent prices rise, and tell regular customers before a change takes effect.
